1In Dutch oven mix together sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
2Add water and cook until thickened, stir frequently.
3Pack lemon soaked apples in hot jars
4Fill with syrup, remove air bubbles & put on hot lids.
5Place in water bath canner, bring to boil & process 20 minutes (quarts)
6May pressure can at 5lbs for 10 minutes.
