Original Grinder

Yields1 Serving
Meatballs: Mix together and form into 1" balls or use your favorite meatball recipe
 1/2 lb. hamburger
 1/2 lb. Italian sausage
 dash of each fennel, Italian seasoning, Lawry's salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, granulated garlic
Sandwich Components
 1 jar of favorite marinara or homemade spaghetti sauce
 4 cups of Mozzarella cheese
 Large crusty French loaf or Italian bread (~2 feet long)
Preparation

Brown your favorite meatballs (or substitute Italian sausage) in a pan

Add marinara or homemade spaghetti sauce to meatballs

The key is to hollow out the loaf of bread and fill it sauce, meat and cheese

Cut loaf into 4, 6" sandwiches

Then take a pairing knife and cut a cap out of one end. Save these cap ends for each sandwich.

Using a knife or fork work to hollow out the bread leaving the opposite end in tact. Be careful to leave at least 1/4-1/2" of bread on the interior to provide extra support for the sandwich.

Fill each sandwich by layering the marinara, meat and Mozzarella cheese and repeat this process until the sandwich is filled.

Use the cap end that has been saved to seal the sandwich.

Place on a baking sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
